Another Person Entering Marvin's Room

Little JoJo is all grown up. In her rendition of Marvin's Room she swears and sings about drinking and fucking. However, she does keep it classy. Where Drake would say "nigga" she says "new girl." I actually like this version of the song a lot, probably even more than Drake's. It's not quite as long, and I don't find myself wishing the singer would stick to rapping throughout the song.

Young Money, Hip Hop's Royal Family

If you look at current hip-hop, it's likely that you'll see plenty of chart-topping songs featuring Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, or Drake.

Now the clan is trying to make Tyga big. He's had a couple of attempts to have a hit song, but nothing's really caught on so far. Is his latest attempt at a hit song going to break the trend of failure? After all, it does feature Drake who's notorious for propelling songs to popularity.

Blowin' Up: I Like it Like That

I had previously suspected that the band Hot Chelle Rae was going to be a one hit wonder. I guess they want to prove me wrong. Their next single is called I Like it Like That, and it features the New Boyz. An unlikely combination that somehow works really well. It's supposed to hit the radio soon, and I'm excited to see how it performs. I think it has the potential to do as well as Tonight Tonight did.

All's Fair In For the Love of Ray J & War

When I think of people I wouldn't fuck around with, I think of a lot of rappers. However, Ray J is not one of them. Apparently Ray J punch fellow rapper Fabolous in the face backstage at a show in Vegas this weekend. If it's true, I do give Ray J some props. Fab. does have a little bit of edge to him, and in the past Ray J's toughest action was allowing Danger to compete on for For the Love of Ray J. Both rappers have taken to feud to Twitter and the radio, so I hope it gets worse before it gets better.

Kanye: Full of Shit or Full of Prophecies.

Oh Kanye! You are the gift that keeps on giving. During a performance of his song All of the Lights, which features Black Eyed Peas front woman Fergie, Kanye said "R.I.P. to the Black Eyed Peas, you will be missed."

So, is Kanye on to something, or just stirring up another controversy? Probably the later, but there is some validity to his statement. The BEPs underperformed with their recent album, and didn't score a #1 hit. Maybe they are on their last leg.
However, I highly doubt Kanye knew this when he opened his mouth.

Demi Dances

It looks like Demi Lovato has been teaming up with some unlikely people. Namely, Missy Elliott and Timbaland. But this combo works. Her song All Night Long is surprisingly good and addictive. I'm impressed by Demi, and I think she has a strong comeback coming her way.

Haterade: LL Cool J

Here's a video from some new B2K wannabes named Mindless Behavior. Because they are young hoodlums, the video takes place in school. In the video LL Cool J plays the teacher, and he demonstrates no control over the class. He is making a mockery of the US education system. In fact, at 1:11 you can see him texting.

Throughout the video, his students invite themselves to the front of the classroom and begin dancing. Why does he allow this? Doesn't he have a lesson to teach. AND, the French girl in the video has a loaf of bread in her hands. Doesn't Mr. Cool J know that kids are not allowed to have food in class? This is a horrible video that makes me doubt the public education system, and LL Cool J is to blame.

And the Winner Is...

I don't like to spend too much time talking about Big Brother on my blog, but it is a show I'm a big fan of.

Last night was the season finale of the show's 13th season and returning player Rachel won! I was so happy, specially because I thought she was going to be evicted a couple of times this season. Rachel is a great competitor, but she plays a socially flawed game. She's too honest, and in a game like Big Brother you need to spend more time talking behind people's back.

Somehow this all worked out for Rachel in the end. Her alliance was chipped away from her, but the fact that she's good at compeitions saved he in the end.

Good job Rachel, and send your half-a-milli wisely. I know what's next in Rachel's future...

Drake Put Out A Flame

A whole slew of new Drake songs have been released, including his collab. with Waka Flaka Flame. When comparing the two, Drizzy outshines Waka...by a lot. Not only does Drake have a better voice and flow, but Waka starts the tune off with a burp. Classless.

Made in China

Coldplay has revealed that they will have a song featuring Rihanna on their upcoming album. The song's name is Princess of China, and the full version with Rihanna has not leaked yet. Coldplay is not the type of band I would expect to feature any artist on their album, let alone Rihanna, but this is going to be a very interesting sound. I think they can pull it off considering the fact that Chris Martin rocked Kanye's song Homecoming. I'm excited for this one.

Lions, Christina, & Priests. Oh My!

Sorry for the lack of recent posts, I will be catching up soon because I am not as busy any more.

Anyway...here's a cool flash mob from Merrimack College to the song Moves Like Jagger. For all the haters out there, how often do you see priests dancing to music other than hymns? I applaud the school for its effort.

Room Service Records

First, I want to start off by saying that I'm sorry for the lack of posts recently. After labor day I will be less busy, so hopefully I'll be able to make at least a post a day again.

But here's a quick update for today. Guess who wants to make more music?

Yes, that's right, Ms. Paris Hilton. As if one album wasn't enough she is working on her second. Will it be successful? I doubt it. But there is a chance that some of her songs will be catchy enough to sell.
